Living in Righteousness by Samson O

The greatest and most fundamental question after being born again is, what next? I have come to the realisation that being born again is not sufficient enough to lead one to heaven on the last day. There must be conscious deter- mination to live righteously. When Apostle Paul urged us to be steadfast, he meant that we should be resolute, determined or to be blunt in our decision to follow Jesus Christ in righteousness. In 1 Corinthians 15:58, Paul says, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, al- ways abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not vain in the Lord. The call for stead- fastness is informed by the fact that Christianity is not a bed of roses. There are challenges here and there but they are opportunities for us to excel and move to greater heights if only we are steadfast in righteousness. The in- tegrity of man is demonstrated in his ability to remain resolute in what he professes. The Bible crystallises the fact that we are not saved by the works of our righteous- ness but we need to live in righteousness for God to dwell in us and use us for His glory. The time has come for us to stop casting aspersions on Adam and Eve for our re- proaches because Jesus has come to redeem mankind from the Adamic nature. If any man is in Christ, he is a new crea- ture, old things have passed away and behold all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17).
