A neighour share her experience with me last month about her son being arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for what he knows nothing about. The most sad part of the story was that after the boy was severely tortured unjustly without investigation and was found innocent, they demanded N200, 000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) for bail and approximately N300,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Naira), an equivalent amount for two of the stolen goods he was accused of purchased even after the culprit (thief) has confessed his innocent.
The study investigated the impact of corrupt-political system in Nigeria and examined its psychological implications on the youth. Participants were 500 male and female Nigerian youths, 250 males, 250 females from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The age range was between 20 to 30 years, with a mean age of 25 years. An instrument used for the study was the corrupt political system (CPS) developed and validated by the researcher. The result showed that participants who responded yes to the items of the questionnaire had a mean score of 488.43 and SD of 25.72 while those who responded no had a mean of 40.56 and SD of 12.61. The chi-square analysis of yes and no responses was x2 (1) = P<. 001. The researcher recommended that the operators of the electoral system should maintain free and fair elections in order to avoid duplicity in the political system.

The Colossian household code (Col. 3.18-4.1) is structured in three pairs of reciprocal relationships: wife-husband, children-father, and slave-master. This code, on the one hand, enjoins the submission of wives to their husbands, obedience of children to their parents and obedience of slaves to their masters as their Christian duty. On the other hand, the code enjoins husbands to love their wives and not to be harsh with them, fathers not to infuriate their children, and masters to treat their slaves fairly. Literally speaking, this code suggests that the wife, children and slaves are subordinate members of the Christian household, while the husband, father or master – paterfamilias- is the dominant member of the Christian household. The Colossian code has been criticised as unjust and therefore unfit for contemporary ethical teaching by modern and postmodern biblical critics, who subject biblical texts to modern moral judgement. This is because the text is alleged to encourage slavery and patriarchy. (Meeks, 1996; Schüssler Fiorenza, 1983)
